Now with Windows 20 I would like to either start a discussion for those who still are interested flighht perhaps find out what is known about running FSX and Windows I am able to install FSX on this system. This is right out of the box. Flight simulator windows 10 should I adjust the resolution to fill my screen or another larger screen both in windows and FSX? Does anyone have experience with these settings? How high will FSX go? How can I get it to spread the entire distance of the screen on the Simulatof It seemed wwindows work in FS9 almost automatically.
Thanks for flight simulator windows 10 and all feedback! It is preferable to install FSX to the root of http://replace.me/4242.txt drive you would use for it, e. The reason for this fflight because other folders in Program Files x86 can inhibit FSX accessing its own files more quickly and efficiently.
Then proceed to install SP1 and flightt as above and exit. Then install SP2. Service Pack 2 is also generally installed, but could be optional if you choose. It mainly deals with Directx10 preview and Multiplayer issues.
You can read about it here:. And an important fligut into your fsx. This will stop parts of aircraft and some scenery from separating from each other. There are of course other tweaks, but this is the main necessary inclusion. I can’t speak about using a Laptop for FSX, as generally they don’t perform well unless they are flight simulator windows 10 spec’d. For example, on my ссылка на подробности inch monitor, I run xx32 as my simulatlr, which flight simulator windows 10 correct.
However, if I was having trouble with it being harder on my frames, etc. Wjndows you’re happy to fly default aircraft e. Bthen you can improve the quality of the engine sounds by downloading often, free other more realistic ones than supplied by FSX. You can also change aircraft behaviour and some aerodynamic features in the aircraft configuration file, but don’t touch this unless you know what needs to be done and you are ismulator with the four flight simulator windows 10 that act upon an aircraft and their effect.

Microsoft Flight Simulator – The next generation of one of the most beloved simulation franchises
Still, the airport had missing PAPI lights, which is puzzling, so things still need to be patched and upgraded. The fact my lower-end gaming PC can run the sim on Ultra with seamless performance, is at least some evidence that the sim.
And thank God I did, or I’d not even be writing this review, or else, I’d be reporting that I couldn’t even run the sim, due to not having enough PC power. As it is, I’m banging , I’m enjoying it and the scenery eye candy, but I had two first days of enjoyment before I had three hours of downtime last night due to bugs, crashes, and some inexplicable camera-view pulling up to the top of the plane for no reason anomalies that took that long to rectify.
It was highly angering and frustrating. But, I”m getting ahead of myself. I have a year-old or so Dell I think it is series gaming laptop, only banging 16 gigs of RAM right now, I’m planning on upgrading to 32 Gigs soon, but my Geoforce graphics card is pretty fast on here. I had no issues downloading the sim. But it didn’t crash on install, not once. Load times are rather slow, to start up the sim and a flight, but then again, XPlane11 was often slow in that regard.
I use Thrustmaster stick and throttle, they work just fine right out of the box with I’ve done maybe five flights so far, but last night I had crash issues and camera-sticking issues for two hours, which I had to recheck all settings, USB connections, and other things, and restart multiple times, to fix.
I also suspected a dl of some 3rd party liveries pack was messing things up, so I got rid of it, and that seemed to help, so be wary of what extra crap you install for this. The flights I have completed were great, the scenery looks good, my machine is mainly handling well, not much latency, but, this sim has deficiencies as others have mentioned: A.
And, clearing it didn’t work as it should have. Also annoying are constant ridiculous overspeed warnings when they aren’t warranted, not realistic, in most cases. Some of the flight models on takeoff are absurd, with planes warning of stall even though you’re at nearly full thrust or at full thrust, and pitched properly for takeoff. The Citation jet included looks fantastic, but I gave up on it on first flight, because, it kept giving me overspeed on takeoff, but I never overspeeded once, having flown countless biz jets on the previous sims, and I know what the safe tolerances are for those planes.
Plane started going into a spin for no apparent reason. Totally irritating. I feel like has enormous potential, the scenery is fantastic, weather, etc. The demands it places on even fast PCs is a bit absurd, and the download times and install times are a bit much, and most people are not going to have the patience.
The way the floating camera views interface works is very irritating at times. I really prefer to have all that stuff mainly mapped to my controllers, but you can do that if you can figure out the rather complex mapping system. XPlane was somewhat easier in that regard. I’m running the sim on High settings thus far, which was what the sim recommended, and honestly I’m gobsmacked at how capable my PC really is, I didn’t expect it to run the sim on that high a setting, but it is, and having a big ASUS monitor is crucial to enjoying the scenery and graphics.
Honestly, I wouldn’t even try to install or run on an old and non-gaming machine of any kind. And looking at this on a tiny screen will only anger and frustrate you.
I feel though, that Microsoft needs to be taken to task somewhat, considering most of the horrible user experiences on here the past month since the sim was released, because the overall consensus is that the sim is a bit of a disaster, and was not really ready for commercial release. This is a problem because it’s just not really a professional way to roll out a major commercial piece of software. Also, no hard disc availability of the sim is absurd, since not everyone has a super fast web connection to be able to download it properly sans a hardware version of the software.
But also, then you have to have an optical drive, which I do own and used with XPlane11 every day, because the sim requires you to have a DVD in the drive to be able to legally run it. Not so with , but the option should really have been offered, and, it wasn’t. Also, as it is, is definitely somewhat more of a fancy “game” than the highly professional flight simulator that XPlane11 is minus the scenery, which on the latter sadly takes a computer programming bloody degree to get “ortho scenery” installed to even make it look remotely as good as I can hop in my payware Eclipse jet in XPlane11 right now, and do a full professional-level fight, with a full outboard flight plan loaded into the wonderful FMS GPS system on the plane, with all arrival and departure procedures, approach, etc.
I”m sure within a year or more, with 3rd party add-ons, this will be the case, but for now, the sim needs work and is not up to the mechanical tech. But again, the scenery and graphics are up with the absolute state of the art, and the scenery realism aspect of is nothing less than astonishing. I flew all around LI and Montauk yesterday, VFR on a Caravan, and I truly felt like I was flying over LI, my hometown, and then landing at La Guardia, even though the airport is not as fully modeled as some in the new sim, it looks good though, was a total treat for the eyes.
Manhattan looks like the real thing, it’s scary good. Teterboro airport looks fantastic. The weather options and systems are great, it must be mentioned, and the ability to do group and live flights are awesome.
But, still some frustrations to report, as above, and the lack of in-sim documentation and supporting material is also vexing. For beginners it must be especially vexing. Any simulator will have its quirks, it’s not a game, as such, it’s a malleable programmable upgradable piece of software where there is always room for improvement and expansion, but so far the reports I’m seeing on here about are disturbing.
Microsoft needed to playtest and refine the sim ahead of release a lot more, and they clearly haven’t done so. I may not be having that much trouble running it thus far, but I see that the complaints about its glaring deficiencies are quite accurate. I was honestly amazed that I didn’t have any trouble doing the actual DL and installation, but somehow I lucked out, or my machine and internet connex.
Also, a no refund policy for such “experimental” and demanding software is NOT acceptable. That needs to be rectified and fast.
I would say, proceed with caution and enjoy if you have a really good gaming machine, good flight controllers or a good Logitech joystick at minimum, a big monitor, and a lot of patience. You’d also better have a dedicated SSD drive or outboard SSD drive that’s nearly empty to store the basic sim download. A lot of us expected a lot more from it on release. It has massive potential, but it has real problems, and is highly demanding on most PCs and requires a super fast internet connection to run at all.
I cannot give five stars, no way, but I will give it three for the unbelievable potential that it may yet surpass over the next few years, if Microsoft can recover from a truly embarrassing rollout of a buggy sim. Right now, I can fly my Caravan over NYC and marvel, but I cannot rely on the plane to perform a full flight plan with ILS or RNAV landing procedures, because the systems required for that are not included with the stock aircraft, mainly.
And that’s my honest assessment. First of all I’m a computer programmer, even one that has contributed to MS Flight Sim in the past with add-ons. I fully understand the process of writing, debugging and distributing software and I and many of my colleagues all agree that Microsoft is one of the worst in this regard. While the underlying products always show some real brilliance and innovation, the team that markets and tests the products care more about profit than quality.
It’s obvious this product was not ready for market yet. I know they had a public testing program but they have to realize that the people attracted to those tests are the hard core gamers, people that have built their lives around gaming at the expense of all other parts of computing. They obviously, from the messages I’ve seen, did not get tested by regular users, folks like me that have a computer loaded down with other functionality such video editing, music creation, image manipulation.
My computer hardware exceeds the minimum requirements of Flight Sim but there are other things running at all times, a healthy anti-virus package, auto updaters, special drivers for hardware additions.
A good chunk of my 16 GB of ram is already in use and Microsoft programmers should assume that and not require of you to strip your computer down to nothing prior to running their damned simulator. You can code programs so they constantly check the resources remaining on a workstation and adjust their settings to not use it all up.
It’s lazy programming to put the onus of that management on the user. I watched in Task Manager as I was loading a flight and, even before I even got to flying, nearly all my memory was gone, my processor was maxed out as was my graphics card. Without turning settings way down I get to a point in that loading where the entire computer crashes. I have updated everything I could think of and managed to get the thing to run on medium graphics settings but had a workstation crash after an hour flight as I made a landing.
This program is 60 dollars. It should be thoroughly troubleshot with common users on machines that meet their requirements but are not tricked out gaming rigs. If I submitted code this buggy to paying customers in my profession I’d have been canned long ago. Update to this: Still upset with MS for the lack of professionalism but I have done a great amount of work on my computer to get this to run more stable.
ANY other piece of software that kicks in when you are at that limit can crash you. Part of the work I’ve done is removing old background apps that from time to time wake up and use processor. One piece of code that runs that is a processor and memory hog is an MS utility that sends user experience data to MS. I found how to remove that functionality but it’s not easy. Also followed a suggestion that any new drives you’ve added should have their virtual memory set to be handled by Windows especially if you’ve put this sim on an SSD.
A trick you can also do, if you plan on starting or going into intense graphical areas is to do a manual cache of the area first. It preloads much of the data and makes for quicker frame rates and less chance of a computer crash. It’s worth it of course. Some places are absolutely gorgeous. A few of those gorgeous places though will have you laughing or shaking your head.
Any spot that gets “autogenned” from overhead Bing maps will have stupid stuff in the water. Bridges will appear as a submerged line barely visible along with any boats and piers that might show up.
Port cities have graveyards of sunken features. Major landmarks in cities will not be there. The Louve is there in Paris but Notre Dame isn’t. Parliament and Big Ben show up but not Buckingham Palace. I would hope that the developers have some gifts in store in patches.
They need to come very soon. As a real life pilot I’ve had flight simulators at home since the first Microsoft Flight Simulator came out back in the ‘s. I have been using Lockheed Martin’s flight simulator program for several years now, and all my peripherals work fine with that program, control column, rudder pedals, etc.
I thought I would give this new Microsoft Simulator a try. Right off from the beginning only a couple of my controls would work with it, and even with updates from different control manufactures that I use, I was not able to get them to work. Now I must say that for scenery the graphics are excellent, real life satellite earth that loads to your computer through the internet so as not to take up several hard drives if it was stored on your computer.
So I think it has the potential to be a terrific flight simulator in the future after all the bugs are removed from it. And to be fair I gave it four stars because most people with a simple joystick and rudders will enjoy this. I have a complete setup with console radios, switches, like a real plane, so that is where in some of the problems for me come from. So for now it’s installed in my computer and every so often I go into it and update the downloads.
I also check for compatibility downloads from the manufacturer GoFlight, of my console products. See all reviews. Your recently viewed items and featured recommendations. Back to top. Get to Know Us.
