Cannot install office Error “Microsoft office professional – Microsoft Community
Ok, I’m pretty much done with Microsoft Office Professional Plus bit I have a fresh install of Windows 8 bit on my laptop legal and want to simply install the software.
Every time I do so, I get an error message: Microsoft Office Professional encountered an error during setup. No error codes, no explanations, just stops. Removed all tasks. What else can I do to install this software? I’ve always used Microsoft because installing programs has always been easy, but since Windows 8 it’s been nothing but problems for some Microsoft products.
OpenOffice installed without any problems for instance, but installing Windows 8 itself was already an adventure on its own, and now Office is giving me issues over nothing. Is it really so hard to program an installer that doesn’t give errors? Try to start Windows in clean boot to check whether the issue is caused by some third party services.

Error when trying to install Office on Windows 10 – Microsoft Community
The combination of Off and Win 8 is really creating a lot of problems. But you seemed to have run fixit and also manually removed all traces of both and Maybe you could try installing in a new windows admin user account and see how it goes. Was this reply helpful? I have had two Microsoft technicians log in to my computer to address the issue. Both were unsuccessful. I’ve run the various “Fix its” with absolutely no results. I’ve edited the registry, renamed and deleted the Microsoft Help folder, and deleted all temp files with no results. I’ve browsed the forums, tried the fixes, and nothing. I previously had Microsoft Office installed on my machine. One day it stopped working, unexpectedly, and prompted me to repair it in Control Panel.
When I went to repair it via the installer, it would fail. I also could not uninstall it. I had to use a Microsoft “Fix it” to uninstall Office I then deleted all trace folders, etc. Since then, I have not been able to install Office My computer is far above the system requirements, I am running Windows 8, and used to run Office programs just fine.

I too had this problem. My computer was 32 bit according to system information but I installed 64 bit version and it worked fine. This site in other languages x.
