I have tried the options you suggested, but they didn’t work for me. Option A – didn’t boot into recovery mode, it just stayed on manufacturer logo screen. Option B – wasn’t possible, as required A to work.
Option C – again required step A access, which I can’t get to Option D – I would rather avoid this option as this is my main freelance work computer, with a lot of important programs and apps I can’t afford to lose. You will have to cut Media creation tool on another computer if you can’t do this on your existing computer. Note – You will get the option to keep your files during reset. But it will remove third party apps including Microsoft Office which will need to be reinstalled.
Default Windows 10 apps will be automatically installed. But non-defaults Windows 10 apps will need to be reinstalled. Yes, I let it do its automatic repair. Re-downloaded the update and restarted the pc didnt shut it down after update and it worked. Must be something to do with updating and shuting it down.
In reply to Spencer14’s post on December 14, Automatic repair continues to fail for me. I just got this pc on the 18th, some graphics glitches and software conflicts between windows and AMD. I did a complete update for both, twice, and my pc is locked with the Automatic Repair telling me that “Windows failed to start correctly” every option in the Recovery Environment comes back with that message.
