HomeGroup from start to finish.
Does anyone know how to set up a new Homegroup in Windows 10, probably needing to remove all references to an old Homegroup that used to exist on the network before moving from Win7 to Win10 but does not seem to work in Win At least none of the machines can manage to connect to it.
All previous posts about Homegroup problems in 10 seem to refer to Win8 and I cannot make the solutions work. Right-click on Start and select Control Panel from the context menu. Select Network and Sharing center option, then click on the HomeGroup at the bottom left fringe on the Network and Sharing Center window. Click Create a homegroup button.
You see the list of files and devices that you would like to share within the HomeGroup. On the drop down menu beside every item set the level of permission of each item, then click Next once you are done.
You will be taken to the next step where you can see an auto-generated password. If the computer need to participate in the HomeGroup then they require this password for authentication. You can also modify the password later.
Tap the Finish button. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. HomeGroup never did work between the wired and wireless machines on 7 and it still doesn’t on Sounds like you don’t have IPv6 e.

Still no HomeGroup on Desktop, and Acer cannot see the desktop either. Local workgroup connectivity is another issue, also broken in various respects in W10 at various levels, supposedly better in Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community.

Windows 10 homegroup setup free download –
HomeGroup has been removed from Windows 10 Version However, even though it has been removed, you can still share printers and files by using features that are built into Windows To learn how to share printers in Windows 10, see Share your network printer. To learn how to share files, see Share files in File Explorer. Note: The HomeGroup view and HomeGroup view and edit options still appear in Windows 10 Version or later when you right-click a folder in File Explorer and then point to Give access to.
However, neither option does anything. To share a file or folder, select Specific people from the same shortcut menu instead. Any folders, files, or printers that you previously shared using HomeGroup will continue to be shared.
This means that:. Shared network folders will still be available. If one user account was set up on a PC for sharing, you can continue using that one account for sharing. You can still get to any shared printers through the Print dialog box.
