It enables all or part of your computer screen slightly bigger so as to make images, letters and words viewed better.
Magnifier can be used in three different views that are docked, lens or full screen. One can change the lens size in the setting of the computer’s magnifier. Some parts of the screen are magnified as one move around the screen. Once enabled, you will see a magnifying glass floating across the interface, which when clicked becomes the magnifier dialog box. You can then zoom in and zoom out with ease by clicking the plus and the minus buttons. Windows10 is crippling. I cannot see the “big” icons – as they are only very slightly larger than the small ones. The hairline, gray and blue text fonts are basically invisible to me.

In IT sales, my laptop is a critical tool. If I can’t use it – guess what happens – I start losing money. Also, given the vast amounts of baby-boomers retiring with a good chunk of disposable income to spend and getting online to interact with grandkids – is Microsoft abandoning the aging market – in addition to people with vision disabilities like me?

In reply to Desiree Schmitt’s post on March 13, Anyone with less than perfect vision will probably have problems with Win10, particularly on a smaller screen such as a laptop or tablet. Buttons and icons are far too small and fonts are spidery against a glaring background.
There is not nuch customisation available. Windows on a small touch screen is a bit of a disaster, even in so called Tablet Mode. I am legally blind and I rely on a screen reader.
Windows has a screen reader built in called Narrator. I had been an experienced Windows user since 3. A few years ago I bought a tablet running Win8 and then Win I fought with Narrator for months and finally gave up. The next day I returned to the dealer for a refund as Narrator is still unintuitive, sluggish, prone to stopping, causes total lock-ups and generally unreliable.
