I know that I do have a custom dictionary, because on the Preferences screen I can open it to view and edit it. What does that message mean? How can I get around it? This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.

It does not explain my error message, but it does say that when Add is grayed out – as it is on my screen – that means a custom dictionary is not defined.
Maybe I just need to delete this one and start a new one. I don’t know what the problem is. I guess I can save the existing words and copy them to the new one. Thanks for your feedback. Since repairing the Office Word application did not work, you may try to uninstall and reinstall it. Hi all, i have a strange problem, I have set 2 x dictionaries to be used on Outlook , namely English and Afrikaans, if a word is mi spelt in the email body in Afrikaans language I can right click on it and it will give me the correct Afrikaans word, however when i right click on a word in the “Subject Line” of Outlook then it only brings up English suggestions.
